Andy Mitchell Joins INB Team He Admires

Vice President, Mortgage Lending

NMLS #447059

Andy Mitchell, AVP, Mortgage lender, BloomingtonWe asked our newest mortgage lender, Andy Mitchell, if there’s anything about himself that might surprise people.  The red-headed Andy replied, “People are surprised to learn that I live on a horse farm. I think the thought of a red-haired person shoveling horse manure is what confuses people.”

But there’s no confusing the fact that Andy’s day job as a loan officer in Bloomington-Normal gives him great satisfaction.  “I have always enjoyed helping people. Whether it was from being in school to my career in banking. I appreciate it more in my career as a mortgage loan officer because I’m helping people make one of, if not the most, important purchases of their lives. The joy that comes over people on closing day is fun to be a part of.”

Andy has been a loan officer since 2011, just joining INB this year. He made the jump because he says he has always admired INB and its mortgage department.  “When I was approached by INB to join the Bloomington/Normal team, I jumped at the chance to talk about joining. I’ve known Curt (Vance) and Mark (Larsen) for a few years and have always had a great relationship with them. So knowing I’d be joining such a great team with such high reputations, it was a no-brainer. “

Helping People Means a Good Day

Andy brings to INB another lender who truly cares about his customers. He says, “Any day that I’m able to help someone get into the home of their dreams . . is a good day!”

Sometimes getting to closing day is a challenge, Andy admits. But at times like that, he looks back on one review that reads, “We had a difficult situation during our buying process but Andy did a great job working through all complications. Highly recommend working with Andy during the buying process!”

Of the review, Andy says, “I am proud of the way I was able to handle this transaction. It was a very complex transaction because the buyers were buying a new construction, and the builders of the new home were buying the borrower’s current home. So there were a lot of moving parts. A day or so before the original closing dates, we found out that closing was going to be delayed for the purchase of the borrower’s current house, which then effected the purchase of the borrower’s new home. It was a mess, but we were able to overcome every obstacle along the way and close on the borrower’s new home.

Community, Family

When not working, Andy says he is very involved in the Bloomington-Normal Young Professionals network. “It is a group of individuals under the age of 40 who are career driven. We spend time volunteering, networking, and various other social events.”

And then there’s family time. “I love spending time with my family. I have a 7-year-old son (and one on the way), two dogs, two horses, and a cat. So on my off day you’ll either see me playing fetch with my Great Dane, or watching my son ride around on his 4 wheeler.”

Andy’s NMLS # is 863557.
